When I launched this letter, it was damn clear to me that cannabis legalization was the most prolific wealth-generating opportunity of the 21stcentury. It was also a pivotal moment in my life, an opportunity to make sure that other pioneer-minded investors could cash in on this surge in business activity, by publishing the research I conducted.

Today, I see with my own eyes how inevitable the process is of incorporating cannabis use in our society. Washington understands it as well, which is the reason the House Financial Services Committee just approved the Secure and Fair Enforcement (or SAFE) Banking Act; it received 75% voter support. This is huge, since it brings the banking system into this industry for the 1st time. It’s going to Congress next.

Financial institutions haven’t been able to freely provide banking services to state-regulated cannabis companies for fear of legal repercussions. As a result, American cannabis cultivators, dispensaries, etc., have had to, for the most part, function as cash businesses.

The SAFE Act already has 152 co-sponsors and support from both sides of the spectrum (mostly Democrats but also some Republicans). Getting the banks to work with the entrepreneurs in this industry will be a catalyst for exponential growth.

That’s not all. Get this: the House Rules Committee is finalizing legislation to protect all pro-cannabis states from any prosecution by the Federal government. Essentially, this is like making it legal.

It’s called the Strengthening the Tenth Amendment Through Entrusting States (STATES) Act, and President Trump has already said that he really supports it. The STATES Act would exempt state-legal marijuana use, sales, and purchases from the federal Controlled Substances Act.

This country has a huge governance crisis. It’s hard to get any sort of meaningful policy plan enacted, whether foreign or domestic. But when it comes to this industry, it looks better with each passing day.

One of Washington’s most pressing problems is that the public doesn’t trust them to do the right thing. There’s a clear lack of confidence in how governments operate. In order to restore faith, one of the most important measures is to focus on BUSINESS, high-paying jobs, and leadership – and this particular sector is a great one to put on your list of accomplishments.

As you can see, though, healthcare is clearly lagging. The introduction of cannabis-infused products will jolt this industry with science, research, sales, competition, and entrance of new ideas.

The U.S. has been the leader in vehicles, airplanes, technology, machinery, and customer service – it needs to take charge with cannabis as well.
